A Plague Tale: Requiem – Trophy List Preview

A Plague Tale: Requiem is the sequel to the award-winning A Plague Tale: Innocence. The first game told the engrossing, moving story of a brother and sister’s survival against inquisition soldiers and an unstoppable swarm of rats. The sequel continues on the story of the siblings as they travel to new regions and start a new life. While no official release date has been set, it looks like it will be out on or before May 17, 2022. The trophy list has leaked online, and it looks very similar to the first game; let’s take a look, shall we.

First off, we have the generic story trophies. There are 16 chapters overall, which is the same as the first game. The original story was around 10-12 hours, so expect Requiem to be around the same length. The story trophies give away what each chapter is about so we have a general idea of how the story progresses without gaining any real spoilers.

Again, we have a pretty straightforward set of trophies in this section. It looks like there are several types of collectibles required for the platinum. These include Souvenirs, Feathers, Flowers, and Protective Items. Again, similar to the first game with some slight nuances. You will also need to fully upgrade weapons and items and skills, including your Sling, Crossbow, Gear, Alchemy, Instruments, Alchemy Skill, Combat Skill, Stealth SKill. Finally, there are a few miscellaneous trophies and a handful that require you to collect all of the available collectibles. Nothing too crazy.

An important thing to note is that in the first game there were limited materials available. This made it a little tricky to upgrade the equipment and the sling in the same playthrough. There were ways around it, though. Requiem has more upgrades than Innocence, so theoretically this could also be a problem. You may need some careful gameplay and/or resource management to focus on certain upgrade requirements. Loading of previous saves may also be necessary/beneficial.

It looks like you will need to 100% the game for the trophy, but this shouldn’t be too difficult. The first game was rated as a 3/10 by PSNProfiles and took 20 hours and 1 playthrough to obtain the platinum. It is likely that A Plague Tale: Requiem will be very similar in difficulty and length.

Unsure if this game is for you? Take a look at some of the gameplay footage below.
